The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet

Der Zwölfjährige T.S. Spivet lebt in einer exzentrischen Familie auf einer Ranch in Montana. Seine Mutter ist besessen von ihrer Käfersammlung, sein Vater ist ein 100 Jahre zu spät geborener Cowboy und seine 14-jährige Schwester träumt davon, die nächste Miss America zu werden. Der kleine T.S. jedoch ist ein begeisterter Kartograf und Wissenschaftler. Als er vom Smithsonian Institut eingeladen wird, reist er auf eigene Faust als blinder Passagier an Bord eines Güterzuges von Montana nach Washington D.C. Er soll dort eine Auszeichnung erhalten und eine Rede halten.
